FMMD 8007 Outpatient Course

The Family Medicine Outpatient rotation is an elective course designed to allow fourth-year medical students to experience the daily practice of clinical Family Medicine through the care of patients in outpatient settings under the guidance of Family Medicine residents and attending physicians at the A.F. Williams Family Medicine Center and the Lowry Family Health Center.

The A.F. Williams site is the continuity clinic for the Family Medicine Residency University track and Lowry is the Denver Health track clinic site. The A.F. Williams Family Medicine Center is a fully equipped and staffed health center in Denver, providing patient care five days per week. Patients from the A.F. Williams Family Medicine Center who need inpatient care are hospitalized at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion on the Anschutz Medical Campus. The Lowry clinic is part of the Denver Health Community Health Services Division. Patients from the Lowry clinic who need inpatient care are hospitalized at the Denver Health Medical Center.

As a student at both sites, you will have the opportunity to care for a diverse group of patients while working with a multidisciplinary faculty including pharmacologists and behavioral scientists, in addition to the experienced family physicians.
