Herbert Robson Brettell, MD 
1921-2007
Bob Brettell passed away December 5, 2007, after a 38-year UCHSC career.
A soft-spoken advocate for primary care, he was the first Chair of
Family Medicine. Dr. Brettell was considered
a model general internist by his patients, peers, and trainees, and was survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellen.
