Nutrition and Preventive Health Student Interest Group (NPHSIG)
The Nutrition and Preventive Health Student Interest Group (NPHSIG) is
a multi-disciplinary student interest group
for those interested in learning more about physical activity, nutrition, behavior change, and other topics related to preventive health. It is run by a student volunteer steering
committee. This committee is responsible for planning all events with
the support of personnel in the Department of Family Medicine Student Affairs Office.
An important activity of the NPHSIG is the monthly lecture.
These lectures are noon-time talks open to the campus on various topics related to
Nutrition and Preventive Health.

The purpose of the NPHSIG is to:
- Promote the recognition of healthy living habits and emphasize their importance.
- Encourage overall physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of students through positive practices.
- Empower medical students with knowledge they may share with the communities they will serve as health care providers.
Student members begin meeting in the Fall to plan activities and develop new ideas.
Support for the NPHSIG is provided by the Department of Family Medicine.
Our meetings are informal, informative, and fun!
Who's invited?
All health sciences students interested in learning more about Nutrition and Preventive Health.
